An online meeting room, Room.sh, was recently launched by Matthew Henshall and co-founders after experiencing personal frustrations with online meeting platforms. The four founders had developed SkillUp, one of the largest tutorial marketplace in Africa but encountered challenges of making video contents for tutorials. After using existing tools like Skype, they needed something more flexible and decided to build their own solution from scratch.
Room.sh is a one-click connect video platform that combines collaborative tools like a digital whiteboard, shared text and code editors. It offers over 10000 hours of video time for educational tutorials and internal company meetings and runs on any device with a web browser. The most interesting part is that Room.sh can be used without installing.

Other unique features include lock rooms (to secure information), an invitation for video conferencing, multiple screen sharing/screen grabs, video grabs and advanced troubleshooting tool to solve connection challenges.
The four software developers built Room.sh and realized its potential to serve as an online meeting tool for individuals, teams or companies. The Cape Town-based platform is currently a free-to-use open beta program. Prices will be announced as soon as the product launches out of its beta stage.
