Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s largest beer brewing corporation, inaugurated its 2022 Africa version of the Beer Garage Global Accelerator Program, which has a record of brewing 500 brands (including Budweiser, Corona, Stella Artois, and others) across 100+ countries.
The event drew a virtual audience of 250 people, including startups, venture capitalists, accelerators, corporations, and ecosystem enablers.
Beer Garage is AB InBev’s global IT innovation arm, which fosters innovation by establishing a strong ecosystem of startups, SMEs, innovators, academia, and venture capitalists. The accelerator program aims to accelerate innovation and change by identifying disruptive concepts that will position the organization as a category leader in the future years.
In its 2022 incarnation, the program focuses on addressing current and future business difficulties in areas such as sales and marketing, supply chain, packaging, future technology, sustainability, route to market, and fintech.
The program is now accepting applications from startups in the early stages of development and beyond from all over the world to solve specific problem statements for the brewing giant in the areas of NFT, Metaverse, Sustainable Packaging, Reverse Logistics, Last Mile Delivery, 3P Lending, POS Devices, and other areas.
The winning firms will receive an equity-free compensated proof of concept (up to $50,000), worldwide expansion, access to investors, new clients, global mentors and leaders, as well as geographical expansion through the brewing giant’s global reach spanning 100+ markets.
The startup accelerator is accepting applications through May 11th, 2022. Interested entrepreneurs can apply for the program by submitting a pitch at Innovation Shots by Beer Garage, following which the applications will be vetted for the final leadership pitch, which will take place in early June, leading up to the announcement of the final cohort.
