Early-stage African water technology startups have been invited to apply for the 2026 Imagine H2O Accelerator programme, a zero-equity global accelerator that provides comprehensive support to entrepreneurs developing solutions to water challenges, industry sources report.
Organisers said the accelerator is open to early-stage startups addressing water access, quality, efficiency and sustainability, with applications accepted until 19 December 2025. The programme’s eligibility criteria stipulate that applicant companies must be incorporated within the last seven years, have annual revenue below US $5 million and have raised less than US $10 million in equity investment, with sessions scheduled to accommodate African participants in evening time-zone windows.
Startups selected for the 2026 cohort will receive access to mentorship, training and industry expertise tailored to water innovation, along with introductions to a global network of tech adopters, investors and peers. The programme offers sector-specific guidance on technology development, commercialisation and entry into new markets, organisers said.
Imagine H2O operates a zero-equity model, allowing participating startups to retain ownership while gaining exposure and support aimed at helping them scale and secure pilot projects or investment, according to programme materials.
The accelerator is part of Imagine H2O’s broader initiative to support water innovation globally, drawing on more than 16 years of experience helping startups transform technologies into commercial products and services that tackle water and climate challenges.
Interested African water startups can apply through the Imagine H2O application portal by completing required documentation and pitch materials before the December deadline for consideration in the 2026 programme.
Applications are accepted until 19 December 2025
