Facebook is inviting community leaders from Nigeria, South Africa, and Kenya to apply for the Facebook Community Accelerator Program in 2021, which will provide participants with training, mentorship, and up to $50,000 USD in funding to invest in a project that will help their community grow.

The Facebook Community Accelerator Program is to assist Facebook community leaders in harnessing their community’s power to transform ideas into motion. The chosen leaders will spend five months learning from experts, mentors, and a specialized program in order to improve their communities.

Participants who are chosen will receive:

“Facebook communities and their leaders are helping to address social issues, exchanging knowledge and information, while connecting with others who share their passions or passion for a cause,” says Kiran Yoliswa, partner management lead for Facebook Community Partnerships in the Middle East and Africa.

This program is available to communities of members who are 18 years old or older who have a presence in Facebook Groups. Communities must have been around for at least a year and have at least 1,000 members.

The Community Accelerator is part of Facebook’s Community Leadership Program, which is a global project that invests in people who build communities.

From May 4 to May 31, 2021, applications will be accepted.
