An accelerator program for investment readiness dubbed Greentech 2024: The Future of Sustainability has been launched by Village Capital and Moody’s Foundation.
Since 2012, Village Capital has operated in Africa by implementing more than 14 accelerator programs. Village Capital provides early-stage companies with the critical social and financial capital they need to maximize business and impact growth.
Greentech 2024 is a project of Village Capital, in collaboration with Moody’s, a global risk assessment company that helps businesses make better decisions. Its goal is to advance sustainable and innovative solutions, actively promoting resilience and reducing the effects of climate change throughout Africa.
The program is part of a larger global initiative that is also taking place in Asia and Latin America. Its goal is to support and scale up startups that are addressing the effects of climate change through ways like reducing pollution and waste, enhancing nutrition and agricultural practices, protecting natural resources, and ensuring that everyone has access to clean water, sanitary facilities, and universal health care.
Regional startups that are developing solutions to speed up the transition to sustainable development are welcome to apply.
These startups can concentrate on topics like natural resource management, agri-tech and food security, cleantech and climate tech, agri-tech and clean energy, circular and regenerative economies, and water, sanitation, and health.
The deadline for applications is May 10.
