Y Combinator has selected nine African tech startups for its S21 cohort

Nine African tech businesses are among the 117 that have been confirmed to be participating in the Y Combinator accelerator in Silicon Valley.

With each receiving US$125,000 in seed funding as well as additional investment opportunities at a demo day.

This month, the S21 cohort of Y Combinator will commennce, and the program will conclude in September with a demo day.

The following are the selected nine African startups:

Floatpays (South Africa) is a platform for on-demand wage access.

Amenli (Egypt) is an online licensed insurance brokerage.

Mecho Autotech (Nigeria) is an online service that connects car owners with mechanics.

Suplias (Nigeria) is a B2B marketplace for small businesses.

Odiggo (Egypt) is an online marketplace for car parts.

Lemonade Finance (Nigeria) is a payment solution that accepts multiple currencies.

Chari(Morocco) is a traditional retailer’s e-commerce and fintech app.

ShipBlu (Egypt) is an e-commerce last-mile delivery and fulfillment service.

Freterium (Morocco)  is a SaaS platform that connects enterprises In the logistics value chain.
