According to parent company Parlement Technologies, American musician Kanye West has made a preliminary agreement to purchase the social media platform Parler.

Multiple social media sites, including Parler, present themselves as Twitter alternatives, emphasizing user freedom of expression.

With $56 million in funding to date, Parler anticipates the deal to close by the end of 2022.

After being removed from Google Play and the App Store by Apple Inc. in the wake of the riots that took place in the United States Capitol in January 2021, Parler has been re-added to both of those platforms.

Chief Executive Officer of Parlement Technologies George Farmer revealed that negotiations with Kanye West began not long ago, after Paris Fashion Week.

According to Forbes, Kanye is worth $2 billion.

On October 3, Kanye appeared in Paris sporting a T-shirt that read “White Lives Matter.”

He posted on Instagram four days later, prompting criticism from various Jewish groups.

Following the posts, Instagram blocked Kanye from accessing his Instagram account.

On October 8, Kanye finally returned to Twitter after a two-year break, only to have his account suspended shortly thereafter.

Farmer claims that 16.5 million people have signed up for Parler.

The platform has reportedly had 11.7 million downloads since its launch, and Apptopia estimates that 40,000 people use it every day.
