Andela has officially launched a remote centre located in Cairo, Egypt. This follows the initial entrance into the Egyptian market which opened opportunities to senior developers in the MENA region.

Andela is headquartered in the United States and operates across Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Rwanda, and Egypt. The company was launched in 2014 to train software developers and connect them to work remotely for leading global technology companies around the world. Andela recently announced that it will surpass $50 million annual revenue in 2019.

The senior developers will work remotely from Cairo, its first remote centre in Africa. Egypt was chosen as one of the tech-driven countries in North Africa, with a digital transformation strategy that aims to increase the GDP contribution of ICT to 5% over the next year.

Speaking about the remote centre in Egypt, Rama El Safty, Andela’s Country Director in Egypt said, “Egypt’s ICT sector has seen significant growth over the past years, as the government has actively focused on strengthening and accelerating digital transformation.”

“Andela builds world-class engineering teams and we are excited to be enhancing our talent pool as we expand into Egypt. We’ve been impressed by the incredible engineering talent we’ve seen so far across the country, and we’re excited to help raise the profile of Egypt’s tech ecosystem on the global stage,” he added.

Also at the official launch of Andela in Egypt, Ahmed EL Sobky the Vice President of Information Technology Industry and Development Agency (ITIDA) signed an agreement to support Andela train a minimum of 200 software engineers in Egypt.

Andela’s remote centre in Egypt will create more job opportunities for youths and contribute significantly to the ICT sector. Andela Egypt is currently accepting applications for software engineering positions here.
