Big news! Bosch awards $30000 to Hello Tractor and Buupass, the winners of its Africa Mobility Pitch competition. The winners will proceed to participate in Bosch’s accelerator and access its facilities and laboratories.
We also have news that Huawei partnered with MTN to run the first trial of its 5G C-Band spectrum. Tagged ‘Golden Band’, the trial was piloted at the ongoing AfricaCom Awards in Cape Town, South Africa.
Next on the Big 5, Africa’s leading internet provider, Opera Limited has officially installed its first local servers in Nigeria. The company aims to leverage this to boost the browsing experience of its subscribers in Nigeria.
Also on the Big5 Daily, Jumia’s third-quarter (Q3) financial report revealed that it gained 636,000 new customers and incurred an operating loss of $55 million.
Finally, ten ICT companies received awards at the just concluded 2019 AfricaCom Awards ceremony. The award acknowledges companies that drive digital innovation and those piloting the 4th industrial revolution across Africa.
