Ifeoluwa Olusanya, from Lagos Nigeria, bagged the award of The Next Robotic Legend hosted by Edu360, the education platform for Union Bank Plc.
He designed a Robotic Farming Solution (TRFS) to address key issues he identified within the agri-business industry like the lack of AI-enabled equipment to manage the nutrient and fertilizer administration on farm produce as well as delays in detection of soil diseases.
There were over 1,000 applicants for the program, among which only 25 made it through the preliminary screening stages and participated in the 6-weeks training sessions.
Participants were given a tablet each with learning materials for the program, access to professional tutors, and a MekaMon, a robot, which offers an unparalleled education experience in advanced robotics.
The competition required participants to create innovative solutions for their communities and as a winner, the opportunity offers Ifeoluwa access to a mentorship program through which he will be able to build his robots in the nearest future.
