South Africa-based healthcare giant, Discovery Health has announced the launch of their prepaid healthcare service voucher, providing South African residents with R300 worth of GP consultation voucher including medications prescribed after a consultation for five days.
Healthcare service vouchers are purchased on WhatsApp or using the Discovery Prepaid Health app and can be redeemed at participating dispensing general practitioners within the Discovery Prepaid Health network.
CEO Discovery Health, Ryan Noach, disclosed plans to release more vouchers to include additional consultation services in nursing, pharmaceuticals, and virtual consultations.
Distancing the initiative from the Discovery Health Medical Scheme, he further explained that the project will be managed by Discovery Health Pty Ltd, the administrative mastermind of the Discovery Health Medical Scheme and other medical schemes.
