Djamo’s mission is to try to bridge a specific and very underutilized gap in Francophone Africa.
Hassan Bourgi and Régis Bamba launched Djamo to impact the position quo of the banking industry.
In June 2019, it raised $350,000 in pre-seed financing from investors.
According to Bourgi, the young people of the country are trying to establish connections with technology companies and serve them differently from the status quo.
So, Djamo is giving this audience an improved front-end experience, quicker and more efficient customer service.
Djamo is pretty much confined to mobile transactions, but also provides financial literacy to customers on its platform.
Djamo reports to have around 90,000 registered users and processes more than 50,000 transactions on a monthly basis.
