TalentQL, an African talent recruitment and outsourcing startup, has been admitted into Techstars Toronto’s class of 2021.
The talent acquisition startup will have access to $120,000 in funding since joining Techstars.
TalentQL, co-founded by Adewale Yusuf, Opeyemi Awoyemi, and Akintunde Sultan in November 2020, is working to assemble a quality talented workforce for African and foreign businesses.
Adewale Yusuf, CEO of TalentQL, says the company would use Techstars’ support to expand beyond a Pan-African network to a global company.
When we recruit from other countries, we want our technical recruiters to be from those countries as well. We want them to be able to communicate in these engineers’ language and understand the cultures of their respective countries, according to Yusuf.
TalentQL aims to democratize opportunities for Africa’s top tech talents, with the COVID-19 pandemic driving the need for multinational companies to source talent internationally.
The startup also plans to open an office in Kenya in the coming months.
Software developers are sourced in strategic areas near top tertiary institutions, according to the startup’s model.
Clients from the United States, Nigeria, Europe, and Kenya are served by TalentQL, which claims to have over 100 software experts and over 2,000 developers.
