TransUnion joins forces to boost financing access for South African consumers with Fintech Startup Fincheck

TransUnion, a global knowledge and analysis firm has partnered with Fincheck, a financial marketplace located in South Africa, to make the credit application process simpler and less challenging for customers. Consumers also have access to a free TransUnion credit report on Fincheck, according to the pair, which in particular allows them to understand their financial status in order to make healthier, more responsible financial decisions.

Due to the COVID-19-induced economic squeeze, Fincheck has also reported that there is considerable interest in customers trying to boost their credit scores. Fincheck CEO Michael Bowren further explained:

During these difficult times, being able to access inexpensive credit and useful information in the same place would benefit South African consumers.

Before making an application, ensuring the data kept on you is correct can be an invaluable tool that can help you more easily understand your financial choices. Ultimately, we aim to support the customer with their financial decisions and drive them towards economic independence.

Hans Zachar, Director of Emerging Markets at TransUnion Africa, speaking about the partnership, stated:

The TransUnion/Fincheck partnership will help consumers manage their finances, especially in these difficult times. We are helping to improve financial literacy and access to credit by partnering with Fincheck.
