In partnership with Visa, the Egypt Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has announced the launch of a new mentorship program that will support the growing ecosystem of FinTech startup in Egypt.
The FinTech mentorship program has three very clear goals and objectives in order to help elevate the growing ecosystem of FinTech startup in Egypt:
- Improve collaboration in favor of entrepreneurship
- Support start-ups to build innovative FinTech solutions
- Foster digital payments in Egypt
Although the mentorship program is looking for start-ups engaged in the field of financial inclusion, digital payments, asset management, MicroFinance and other related FinTech industries.
ITIDA and Visa are also looking to use it as a tool for fostering women’s entrepreneurial support.
In addition to reducing the gender gap in financial equality through encouraging and assisting female entrepreneurs working in the FinTech industry.
However, the initiative will also address a variety of issues, such as cash costs; governmental e-payment solutions.
Also promoting a prosperous digital payment environment through engagement with software creation and IT companies.
Most importantly, Visa’s support opens up a whole host of doors for the selected startups.
Upon joining, Visa’s API will enable the incorporation of the global network of the financial services giant and experiments with its sandbox.
The best-performing startup will win $20K after the completion of business mentorship and professional training.
