Back in 2018, Ghanaian startup AgroCenta, which won the Seedstars World competition and raised seed capital in that same year, has now secured US$790,000 from Shell Foundation, FCDO, AV Ventures and Rabo Foundation in pre-Series A investment.

AgroCenta will use the US$790,000 funding to scale up its agri-tech ecosystem and protect smallholder farmers’ purchases of crops.

AgroCenta runs a mobile merchanting platform which provides smallholder farmers in Ghana with market information, storage and distribution solutions, and financial services.

Since its launch, AgroCenta’s registered farmers have quickly grown from 3,000 to over 46,000.
