UNCDF brings its expertise to the promotion of financial inclusion and inclusive digital economies. Under the theme ‘Boosting Green Jobs and Enterprise Prospects in Ghana (GrEEn),’ the new initiative aims to promote job development and is completely funded by the European Union Trust Fund for Africa, which tackles the root causes of illegal migration.
Via green and climate-resilient local economic growth, the emphasis will turn towards addressing the root causes of irregular migration. In Ashanti and other Western Ghanaian areas, the idea is to establish jobs and economic opportunities.
UNCDF is organizing the Innovation Challenge: Boosting Financial Inclusion and Job Creation in Ashanti and the Western Regions of Ghana to achieve Gree’s objectives.
Under GREEn, UNCDF will work hand-in-hand with local partners and stakeholders to develop innovative use cases, business models and products that make it easier to access and use case-by-case products and business models to facilitate the use of financial services for more than 70,000 recipients, in particular young people, women, small and medium-sized enterprises and returning migrants.
