Following in the footsteps of Clubhouse, Instagram launches Live Rooms, which allow up to four people to livestream at the same time.

Initially, similar to Facebook Live, the app only allowed users to live stream with one other person.

Live Rooms, according to the company, would allow for more creative live broadcast formats, including live talk shows, extended Q&As or interviews, jam sessions for artists, live shopping experiences, and more.

According to Instagram, the Live Rooms feature allows four people to participate in real-time broadcasts that other Instagram users can watch.

Live Rooms also gives artists who have been cut off from traditional venues due to the pandemic a way to make money.

Viewers can purchase badges to show their support for the hosts in Live Rooms, as well as use other social features including Shopping and Live Fundraisers.

Other tools, such as moderator controls and audio features, are being developed now, according to the company, and will be released in the coming months.
