Netflix is exploring a password sharing ban feature to verify that people who use Netflix accounts are allowed to do so.” Netflix disclosed in a statement.

The test could be used for both account protection and password sharing.

So basically, Netflix is attempting to weed out ineligible consumers.

According to research, about 33% of all Netflix users share their password with at least one other person.

Netflix hasn’t done much in the past to discourage password sharing because its high subscriber growth.
