Strathmore University has partnered with Ukraine-based 482.solutions to offer blockchain solution development training to Strathmore University students.

The aim of the training is to provide Kenyan students with skills that will set them apart from the competition and provide the Kenyan market with highly qualified blockchain professionals.

The establishment of collaborations between Strathmore University and 482.solutions was made possible with the support of the Ukrainian Embassy in the Republic of Kenya.

Ms. Eunice Maingi, project coordinator in the IT Security Department and leader of the Blockchain research team at @ilabAfrica-Strathmore University, stated that the first workshop would be held in April.

“It will be a virtual workshop, with the option of turning it into a hybrid course for students who choose to attend in person @iLabAfrica Strathmore University.”

According to Mr. Richard Otolo, manager of IT security research at @iLabAfrica-Strathmore University, students will participate in industry-focused projects after the training.

The training will include both theory and practice, according to Mr. Leonid Khatskevych, Strategic Partnership Manager at 482.solutions.

“The theory would cover blockchain networks in general, cryptography, and the bitcoin protocol, whereas the practice would cover smart contracts. Students will be able to create either an Ethereum ERC-721 token or a “Voting smart contract.”

Strathmore University will provide the Kenyan market with highly qualified blockchain experts, according to Dr. Joseph Sevilla, Director @ilabAfrica.
