Nikhil Goel has been named the new CEO of Gokada, a Nigerian start-up that specializes in delivery, logistics, and transportation.
Since the tragic death of Gokada’s founder, Fahim Saleh, in July 2020, Goel has been in charge of the company.
According to Gokada, Goel assisted the company in doubling its revenue and tripling its delivery order number, allowing it to achieve profitability.
Goel joined Gokada as a Vice President of Rides in 2019, bringing with him a wealth of experience in the global last-mile logistics industry.
Nikhil worked as the General Manager of Zomato, a unicorn food delivery startup in India, and then as the Head of New Verticals at SafeBoda in Kenya.
Although it started as a ride-hailing service, the company has since grown to become a pioneer in food distribution, parcel delivery, and other “last mile logistics” solutions in Lagos.
Gokada expects to expand into other Nigerian states in 2021, with a fleet of over 1,000 riders and thousands of SME customers.
“Gokada now serves thousands of individuals and companies across Lagos,” Nikhil Goel said of the company’s current business model.
Our distribution services also include a wide variety of industries, including food delivery, grocery delivery, package delivery, eCommerce fulfillment, and more.
The company’s Never-Give-Up mentality is what makes me so proud of Gokada.
Even in the midst of the pandemic that followed the ride-hailing ban, we were able to rehire the majority of our pilots while simultaneously introducing dependable logistics solutions to help Nigerian companies, allowing them to continue to serve their customers.”
