Liquid Telecom has recently announced the appointment of Wole Abu as CEO for Liquid Telecom Nigeria and its new Africa Data Centre (ADC) in the country, with effect from January 2021.
The latest appointment follows the organization’s recent acquisition of a property in Lagos, Nigeria for the intended construction of the single largest data center in Africa outside South Africa to further tackle the increasing need for cloud storage services across Africa.
Mr. Mohamed Abdel Bassit, Regional CEO, MEWA, Liquid Telecom, in a statement said, “Abu brings over 14 years of experience in the telecommunications industry which will be integral as we continue to expand our fiber network reach on the African Continent.
With our East to West link going live, it is integral that we start working with businesses in Nigeria to develop the local telecom and technology ecosystem and also establish ourselves as the go-to data center provider.”
Mr. Abu’s new responsibilities will also include oversight functions aimed at the strategic growth of ADC’s operations in the new market.
