The Ecobank Fintech Challenge, which aims to support the expansion of Pan African Fintech success stories, has announced the launch of its 2023 edition.
Ecobank operates in 35 different countries across Africa; the Challenge seeks to find and work with fintech that is ready to scale and give them access to opportunities
Finalists in the Ecobank Fintech Challenge compete in the competition’s final round.
The top three finalists will receive cash prizes of $15,000, $12,000, and $10,000, respectively.
All finalists are invited to join the Ecobank Fintech Fellowship, where they can learn more about partnering with the Ecobank Group through integration, deals, and commercial partnerships.
Participation Benefits
Those that make it to the final round will be inducted as Ecobank Fintech Fellows and given access to the resources below:
- A once-in-a-lifetime prospect to seek integration with Ecobank and possibly launch goods in over 30 African markets served by Ecobank.
- Ecobank may select startups as local nation-level partners in any of Ecobank’s 33 country ecosystems.
- Fellows will have access to a dedicated team to assist Ecobank with API testing, allowing Ecobank to strengthen its products for the pan-African market.
- Founders will be initiated as Ecobank Fintech Fellows, gaining access to and relationships with a large network of global and African Accelerators, possible investors, and mentors.
- Opportunity to potentially combine with Ecobank’s existing digital solutions. Ecobank Omni, Ecobank electronic financial supply chain (eFSC), Ecobank Xpress, Ecobank Mobile APP or USSD, MasterPassTM QR, MVISA TM & mCash, and other digital solutions are already available.

These products must address one or more of the following pain points:
- User experience
- Inclusion of funds
- Credit evaluation
- Aggregation of Ecosystems
- Internal resources
- Compensation
- Any other product categories that are relevant
