The Seedstars World Competition 2020/21 announced this year’s Global Winner, Malaysian FinTech startup Finology, a startup that enables seamless access to financial products through the use of proprietary technology and digital distribution channels, after a nearly year-long virtual run.

The Seedstars World Competition has grown to be the largest startup competition in emerging markets since 2013, but this year’s edition was transformed online due to the unique pandemic situation.

This year’s competition’s five finalists came from five different regions:

Pegasi (LATAM | Venezuela)

Finology (Asia | Malaysia)

IMAN (CEE | Uzbekistan)

Ladda (Africa | Nigeria)

Fulfillment Bridge (MENA | Tunisia)

After much deliberation, Finology was named this year’s Global Winner. Alisée de Tonnac, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Seedstars, stated, “Finology demonstrated a lot of promise in their mission to connect financial institutions and individuals by making financial products accessible to everyone.” The Seedstars team believes that they will effectively help lead the way forward in the financial sector’s ever-increasing digitization. Seedstars extends heartfelt congratulations to the Finology team!”

“We’re all about using technology to deliver financial services to people in ways that are more meaningful to their lives,” said Finology CEO Jared Lim of their team’s victory. We are excited to launch more product offerings in Emerging Asia that are centered on a seamless delivery experience.”

Finology will receive a $500K equity investment as the grand prize.
