With just five startups left in the running for the Seedstars World Competition Grand Prize of $500,000 in funding, Seedstars has completed the regional stage of the competition.
Fulfillment Bridge (Tunisia), Pegasi (Venezuela), Finology (Malaysia), IMAN (Uzbekistan), and Ladda (Nigeria) are the five Seedstars World Competition 2020/21 finalists.
Just 20 startups advanced from the local stage to the regional finals, where the final five startups were chosen to compete for the Grand Prize of $500,000 in equity funding in the final stage of the competition.
The Seedstars World Competition was established in 2013 with the aim of identifying the most promising early-stage startups and creating the largest entrepreneurial ecosystem in emerging markets.
The following are the five startup finalists who will compete in the Grand Finale:
Fulfillment Bridge (MENA | Tunisia)
A cloud-based global e-commerce logistics platform that includes warehousing across four continents, fulfillment, shipping, and return management, among other services.
Fulfillment Bridge is a multinational fulfillment network with 14 locations in 14 countries that uses artificial intelligence to help online sellers maximize their logistics.
Pegasi (LATAM | Venezuela)
70% of Latin America’s healthcare data is only on paper, resulting in problems for one out of every ten area hospitalized patients. This company aims to address this issue by developing a low-cost EHR that can be used both online and offline, anonymizes data, and allows for big data tracking of epidemic diseases. Pegasi allows healthcare knowledge in the developing world open, transparent, and useful for patients, doctors, and service providers.
Finology (Asia | Malaysia)
Having a financial product in this day and age should be a painless process. Except that it isn’t. Finology solves this problem by providing seamless access to financial products through our technology and ready-to-use digital distribution channels.
IMAN (CEE | Uzbekistan)
Due to a shortage of Islamic products, a high cost of capital, and a weak user experience, Uzbekistan’s banking penetration rate remains below 7%. IMAN introduces a Shariah-compliant point-of-sale system that allows consumers to purchase whatever they want from retailers with the help of peer-to-peer (P2P) investors.
Ladda (Africa | Nigeria)
Ladda tackles the issue of low to medium income earners’ lack of financial literacy and ease of access to microinvestment opportunities. Ladda provides retail investors with investment opportunities in order to democratize investment and promote financial literacy.
Seedstars will broadcast the Grand Finale online on May 20, 2021, at 2 p.m. CEST, in collaboration with The Next Web.
