Beat Drone, an agritech start-up that uses drone service to help farmers has won the N5 million naira at the Techfest 2018 which held at Landmark event centre, Lagos from 15 to 16 May 2018.
The Agric drone company and her mother Hub, Passion Incubator; won the cash prize and N5 million in technical supports from the sponsors of the event which include; Diamond Bank, Interswitch, Visa, Microsoft, NIBSS, Deloitte, MTN Nigeria and Beat FM.
The Battle of the Hubs was a major feature of the two-day tech festival. Five tech hubs from the geographical zones of the country participated in this challenge.
The hubs include; Ventures Platform, Wennovation Hub, Colabs Kaduna, Passion Incubator and Roar Nigeria.
The featured start-ups were; TrillzApp (Enugu); SchoolMo (Kaduna), Payant (Kaduna), Riby (Lagos), Beat Drone (Lagos), Afrimash (Ibadan), Pronov (Enugu); GeroCare (Abuja), Thrive Agric (Abuja) and Peepscreen (Enugu).
The president of Beat Drone, Odionye Confidence during his pitch said the prize money will be used by the company to purchase new drone equipment and expande its services to other parts of the country.
