As it continues to power e-commerce for Africa, Afrikrea, the e-commerce platform for “all things made of Africa,” is launching ANKA, an all-in-one SaaS solution to provide a seamless ecommerce, payments, and global shipping online service for thousands of micro retailers and businesses on the continent and around the world.

ANKA is a global e-commerce aggregator of services for African micro retailers, and it was created to reduce the friction of the global distribution process for Afrikrea platform sellers.

Moulaye Taboure, Co-Founder and CEO of Afrikrea, says about the launch of ANKA. “We see Afrikrea as a link between Africa and the rest of the world, enabling thousands of micro retailers and their customers all over the world. Those entrepreneurs are currently wasting time and energy managing multiple distribution platforms, as well as resources due to the multiple intermediaries needed to ship orders or obtain funds. ANKA allows them to sell and be paid anywhere in the world – all in one place.”

In 2019, Afrikrea collaborated with DHL, a leading global logistics partner, to ensure that its vendors receive world-class distribution service.

Since then, ANKA has grown to become Africa’s largest e-commerce exporter, shipping over 10 tons of cargo out of the continent every month. Vendors can check for affordable shipping rates using the ANKA program, which is not restricted to sales on the Afrikrea platform.

Afrikrea, a marketplace for selling and buying African-inspired clothes, accessories, arts, and crafts, was established in 2016 and has grown to over $15 million in transactions in 170 countries around the world, with sellers from 47 of the 54 African countries. The site now receives over 500,000 monthly visits, with the bulk of users hailing from Europe and North America.
