As part of its expansion plans in the United Arab Emirates, Amazon said it expects to create 1,500 direct and indirect jobs this year.

The expansion of distribution and storage facilities will result in job creation, according to a statement.

Amazon will open four new delivery stations, enhancing last-mile capabilities to accelerate deliveries and reach more consumers, the company announced.

“Through its sellers and delivery partners, the growth also produces extra jobs.”

Amazon announced earlier this year that its cloud service business, Amazon Web Services, will open three data centers in the United Arab Emirates in the first half of 2022, marking the company’s second Middle East infrastructure location.

“We’re expanding our operations to better enhance the customer experience, ensuring that people in the UAE get what they want, when they want it, and wherever they want it. As we continue to invest in people, process, and technology, our expansion is anchored by our support of the UAE’s burgeoning digital economy,” said Prashant Saran, Director of Operations for Amazon Middle East and North Africa (Mena).

“We are pleased to become an enabler of opportunity for talent in the UAE as we accelerate our culture of innovation to better serve our consumers. We provide a stimulating environment in which employees may learn and grow in a modern workplace that places a strong emphasis on safety. As we continue to develop sustainably and ethically, Amazon’s investment shows our long-term commitment to the areas in which we operate,” Saran added.

The development of Amazon’s activities in the UAE will be accomplished through a series of new openings, closures of existing buildings, and modifications aimed at providing a better experience for the company’s consumers. Amazon’s dedication to establishing sustainable operations as it develops across the area lies at the heart of it.

Amazon did not reveal the amount it will invest in the UAE or the specific jobs or departments where it will hire new employees.
