Mettā is a worldwide members’ club for entrepreneurs. The club has recently announced that it will run a second cycle of its Fashion Product Lab with the aim to connect designers with fashion-focused technology businesses to launch and scale their brands.
The first cycle of the Fashion Product Lab was launched last year by Mettā in Nairobi, Kenya. 10 cohorts were selected to join the first event, including eight Kenyan and two Nigerian designers.
Applications opened on August 14th this year and will be closing on September 1st. Phase 2 will open officially on October 2nd and end on December 8th.
From October 2nd to October 13th, the club will cover important topics such as Fundamentals of Fashion Design, Design Marketing & Communications, Fashion Tech Design Challenge.
On October 16th, the event will continue until October 27th and will cover Differentiation, Sourcing and the Supply Chain, and Distribution Models.
From October 31st to November 10th, the topics which will be covered include Merchandising, Branding, Personal Branding, a Brand Storytelling Blog Challenge, and Pitch Training.
From November 13th to November 24th, the event will cover Financial Models, Sourcing, and the Supply Chain Production Workshops.
Finally, from November 27th to December 1st, the event will include Pitch Practice, a Fashion-Accessories Styling Challenge, along with Final Design Touch-Ups.
The event will officially close on December 8th with a Pitch for the 3rd and next phase.
