Prospa, a Nigerian fintech startup, has raised $3.8 million in pre-seed funding round to provide banking and software services to small businesses.

Investors in the round included venture capital firms such as worldwide Founders Capital and Liquid 2 Ventures. Immad Akhund of Mercury, Karim Atiyeh of Ramp, and executives from Teachable, Square, Facebook, and Nubank were among the participants in the round.

Kioma Ugo, Frederik Obagi, and Rodney Jackson Cole launched Prospa in 2019.

The company places a strong emphasis on freelancers and entrepreneurs who serve as the backbone of their companies.

Account numbers and a variety of additional features are available to registered firms on the platform. In addition to providing bank accounts, they are guided through the process of formalizing their company.

Prospa offers invoicing tools, inventory management, employee and vendor administration, an e-commerce site, and payroll functions in addition to banking services.
