Wari’s digital financial services platform operates with Lycaremit to add low-cost fund transfers to its network across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Through its payments platform, Senegal-based Wari has provided access to financial services, having built a network of more than 700,000 outlets around the world.
Lycaremit belongs to the remittance providers of the British multinational Lyca Group.
The companies claim that the partnership happened to come about with the need to develop an effective ecosystem that includes financial services, operations and cross-border transaction facilitation.
Lycaremit says Wari’s platform will benefit its customers, allowing Lyca to credit any bank account and mobile wallet. Wari will benefit from the increased commitment that will be brought to its platform by Lyca’s global brand recognition.
The partnership will deliver the online money transfer capabilities via WhatsApp Messenger and eventually it plans to launch soon via a Lyca mobile app.
