AURA, the South African-born emergency-response technology platform, has secured a €13.5 million (US $15.1 million) Series B funding round to fuel its expansion into the U.S. and build a global dispatch “clearing house” for rapid life‑saving services .
The funding round was led by Cathay AfricInvest Innovation Fund (CAIF) and Partech.
Founded in 2017 by Warren Myers, Ryan Green, and Adam Pantanowitz, AURA operates as a marketplace that allows users—via mobile devices or connected products—to access the nearest vetted private or public security and medical response units wherever they are.
While now headquartered in the Netherlands, AURA has already established a profitable, trusted presence in South Africa, the UK, and parts of Africa. The new funding positions the company to scale its on‑demand private security response model in the U.S..
The company plans to launch of U.S. operations, beginning with an on‑demand private security response service. The company also plans to develop of a unified API—described as a “clearing house”—that dispatches the nearest suitable emrgency-responding unit regardless of country.
Warren Myers, AURA’s CEO, called the round “a pivotal moment,” stressing the startup’s readiness to take personal safety to a global scale via a single API .
