Moroccan tech startup DONE.ma has raised $2.1 million in a seed funding round led by local investors and business angels. This investment marks a significant milestone in Morocco’s digital landscape, aiming to establish the country’s first homegrown super app.

Founded in 2024 by Mohamed El Ghaissani, DONE.ma initially launched as a food delivery service. However, the company quickly expanded its vision to create a comprehensive digital platform that integrates various services, including food delivery, e-commerce, digital payments, and more. The goal is to simplify daily life for Moroccans by offering a single app that caters to multiple needs.

Since its inception, DONE.ma has experienced rapid growth. The startup currently operates in eight regions across Morocco, with over 90 employees, more than 1,000 retail and restaurant partners, and a network of 500 delivery ambassadors. The newly acquired funding will be utilized to expand operations into additional major cities, enhance logistics infrastructure, launch and scale DONE Stores, its quick commerce initiative, broaden its product suite to include services like Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) and digital financial services, promote digital inclusion through job creation and accessible services.

DONE.ma’s mission aligns with Morocco’s national digital transformation strategy, which aims to accelerate socioeconomic development by ensuring inclusive access to essential digital services by 2030. The company envisions building not only Morocco’s first super app but also one of Africa’s leading digital platforms, with plans to expand regionally into North and West Africa. Strategic partnerships with banks, telecom operators, and large distributors are part of this expansion plan.

The $2.1 million seed round is notable for being fully backed by Moroccan investors and business angels. This marks one of the largest early-stage investments led exclusively by Moroccan capital, reflecting growing confidence in the country’s tech ecosystem and its potential to scale regionally.

As DONE.ma continues to develop its super app, it aims to demonstrate that Morocco can produce technology solutions competitive on an international level, contributing to the country’s digital economy and setting a precedent for other startups in the region.
