Rocket Health, a telemedicine and last-mile healthcare company based in Uganda, has raised a US$5 million Series A funding round to advance its technology roadmap and geographic development into Uganda and Kenya.
Creadev, an evergreen investment company owned by the Mulliez family of French entrepreneurs, led the funding round. Creadev was joined in the round by current early-stage African investors Grenfell Holdings and LoftyInc Capital Management.
Rocket Health, which was founded in 2012, is Uganda’s leading telemedicine provider, providing an end-to-end healthcare experience to over 25,000 patients.
The startup’s approach makes use of technology to provide four integrated services: 24-hour teleconsultations, medication delivery, home sample collection for laboratory diagnostic tests, and physical specialist clinic appointments.
“Through the exponential power of technology, Rocket Health is on a mission to make great primary healthcare accessible, affordable, and convenient to achieve the best outcomes for as many Africans as possible,” said Dr. Davis Musinguzi, Rocket Health’s founder and CEO.

The funding will be used to extend the startup’s operations throughout Uganda and into Kenya.
