Nigerian clean energy startup Salpha Energy has secured a $1.3 million investment from All On, a Shell-backed impact investor, to scale its local solar assembly operations and broaden access to affordable, reliable solar power in underserved communities across Nigeria.
Founded by Sandra Chukwudozie, Salpha Energy stands out as one of Sub-Saharan Africa’s only female-led solar home system assembly plants. The company designs, assembles, and distributes solar solutions tailored to the unique energy needs of African consumers. Its turnkey solar systems, ranging from 150Wp to 100kWp, are integrated with battery storage and smart inverters, providing sustainable energy solutions for households, small businesses, schools, and healthcare facilities.
The newly secured funding will be utilized to enhance the solar assembly facility to meet growing demand, develop and introduce new solar solutions to cater to diverse energy needs and increase reach to underserved communities, ensuring equitable access to clean energy.
This investment aligns with Salpha Energy’s mission to deliver affordable and reliable solar power, contributing to the global goal of universal energy access.
Salpha Energy’s innovative approach has already impacted over 2 million lives across Nigeria. By focusing on local assembly, the company not only ensures quality control and product optimization but also creates employment opportunities, fostering economic growth within the region. The investment from All On underscores a commitment to supporting indigenous companies that are innovating for impact and accelerating progress toward universal energy access.
