ShopZetu, a startup in the fashion IT industry, recently announced the successful completion of a $1Million Pre-Seed funding round.
Launch Africa, Roselake Ventures, Logos Ventures, and angel investors Kendall Tang, Ben Munoz, Sumit Bhasin, Patricia Ithau, and Peter Njonjo also invested in the round, which was headed by Chui Ventures.
ShopZetu, which was founded in 2021 by Marvin Kiragu and Wandia Gichuru, aspires to become the most renowned fashion and lifestyle e-commerce business in Africa.
Through a centralized e-commerce marketplace, content production, digital marketing, warehousing, and last-mile delivery, ShopZetu offers a platform to facilitate online fashion retail for different vendors.
ShopZetu has gained impressive traction over the previous two years, seeing a 400% rise in monthly orders starting in January 2021.
Over 100,000 products have been sold and over 30,000 consumers have been assisted by ShopZetu. Currently, the platform is home to over 300 suppliers who provide a broad selection of more than 20,000 products.
Marvin Kiragu, CEO of ShopZetu, expressed his excitement about leading the charge in online fashion and lifestyle shopping. “Content, community, and hyper-personalization through recent advances in artificial intelligence will drive e-commerce in Africa in the future.”
The company plans to explore regional delivery services in Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda.
With the money raised through the successful Pre-Seed campaign, ShopZetu intends to scale customer acquisition in Kenya, increase its vendor base to 1,000 brands, enter the home décor and beauty markets, and consider partnering with global fashion companies looking for local distribution without the need for physical stores.
