Early-stage African tech startups are being invited to apply for funding from the Bayer Foundation, which assists impact startups in validating their ideas.
The Bayer Foundation collaborates with the Ingolstadt School of Management in the Social Impact Startup Academy (SISTAC) every year to help entrepreneurs from Sub-Saharan Africa validate and prove their ideas in order to help them develop their businesses.
Selected startups will interact with mentors from the Ingolstadt School of Management, gain access to the Bayer Foundation network, and receive free business advice. They can also search for funding opportunities and competitions, as well as access the SISTAC information database and attend workshops and events.
The foundation is searching for companies that are primarily focused on SDGs 2 and 3 – zero hunger and improved health and wellbeing. They should be in the validation stage, with some clients, but they should be looking to improve and validate their approach in order to expand.
Female entrepreneurs or co-founders are also preferred, but this is not a hard criterion, and all companies must be profitable and based in Africa.
