Tunisian travel-technology startup WildyNess has closed its first institutional pre-seed funding round, co-led by Bridging Angels and the African Diaspora Network, according to multiple sources.

Founded in 2021 by engineers Achraf Aouadi and Rym Bourguiba, WildyNess operates a B2B2C marketplace that connects conscious travellers with community-based tourism experiences co-created with micro-entrepreneurs in Tunisia. Prior to raising external capital, the startup reports achieving over US$300,000 in organic sales since its 2022 launch, notably with zero paid marketing.

While the exact size of the round was undisclosed, the investment is described as a strategic milestone for North Africa’s travel-tech sector. The funding will be used by WildyNess to expand its platform into new markets including Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, and to strengthen its technology infrastructure.

Aouadi said the move marks validation of WildyNess’s thesis that travel demand is shifting toward authenticity and impact rather than volume-led commoditised tours. “The future of travel is not in volume, but in authenticity and impact,” he commented.

Investors from Bridging Angels and the African Diaspora Network also emphasised their roles beyond capital: offering strategic market access and mentoring support rather than purely financial backing.

The raise comes amid growing attention to underserved verticals in the region’s startup ecosystem, as funders increasingly look beyond fintech and e-commerce. WildyNess’s focus on sustainable, community-based tourism positions it as a pioneer in that space.
