UAE-based fintech firm Lucid Capital has closed a $2.5 million seed funding round led by Saudi investment firm Tharawat Holding, with additional participation from strategic investor Singular Link, as it accelerates development of its AI-driven algorithmic trading platform.
The financing will be used to expand the company’s technological infrastructure, deepen its artificial intelligence research capabilities, and support scaling of its proprietary trading strategies globally.
Lucid Capital specialises in AI-powered algorithmic trading, combining quantitative strategies with machine learning and autonomous AI agents to optimise execution efficiency and risk management across volatile markets. The platform targets both traditional asset classes such as U.S. equities and emerging sectors including digital assets.
In addition to the equity raise, Lucid Capital has reported approximately $200 million in capital commitments from a group of financial institutions and accredited investors earmarked for deploying and scaling its trading strategies, a move that underscores growing institutional interest in AI-driven quantitative finance.
Founded in 2022 and now headquartered in the UAE, Lucid Capital was established by a team of quantitative and technology specialists. The firm relocated to Abu Dhabi as it sought to leverage the UAE’s burgeoning fintech ecosystem and access regional capital networks.
Tharawat Holding, which led the seed round, is a Riyadh-based investment company with a diversified portfolio and increasing focus on technology-led ventures, signalling strong Gulf investor confidence in fintech innovation.
Market analysts say the funding reflects rising institutional appetite for sophisticated, AI-enhanced trading solutions and highlights the UAE’s growing role as a hub for advanced financial technology firms building for global markets.
