Uncover, a skincare startup based in Kenya has successfully raised one million dollars in seed funding.

Investors in the seed round included several angel investors as well as FirstCheck Africa, Samata Capital, Future Africa, and IgniteXL.

Sneha Mehta, Jade Oyateru, and Catherine Lee co-founded Uncover, a data-driven, digital-first women’s brand created expressly to address women’s health and wellness in Africa. Uncover was launched out of the global VC accelerator Antler.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have our new investors as partners and are so proud of this significant turning point in our path. The funds will be utilized to launch more goods, expand into new areas, and also improve our technology and analytics to efficiently produce for, reach, and market to our audience, according to Sneha Mehta, co-founder, and CEO of Uncover.

“Sneha, Jade, and Catherine are an exceptional trio of driven female business owners creating a unique, pioneering organization in Africa. Eloho Omame, co-founder and general partner of FirstCheck Africa, described Uncover’s products as an inventive fusion of Korean skincare technology with African ingredients. “The creators are harnessing data and community to establish a category leader with global potential,” he added.

The company plans to utilize the money to expand its current operations in Kenya as well as to open new offices throughout the rest of Africa.

According to Uncover, preparations are being made to enter the Nigerian market in January 2023.
