Zazuu, a fintech company with a focus on Africa, has successfully completed a funding round of $2 million.
Founded in 2018 by Kay Akinwunmi, Korede Fanilola, Tola Alade, and Tosin Ekolie, the goal of Zazuu is to give Africans in the diaspora efficient ways to transfer money.
Kay Akinwunmi, CEO of Zazuu, stated: “Our purpose has always been straightforward for us from day one. Remittance transactions have consistently given Africans the short end of the stick.
Users can use Zazuu to find several money transfer companies in their area, compare their rates and fees, and decide who to send money to without paying any additional fees.
Cross-border payments are the most serious issue, but the startup is also focused on other financial difficulties faced by immigrants. We are more than a payments company, Akinwunmi added. We want to improve the financial environment for Africans living abroad.
This indicates that in the future, we aim to do more for individuals than merely facilitate transactions by giving them better access to financial resources like credit both domestically and abroad. The goal is to create a truly impartial financial environment for African immigrants worldwide”, Akinwunmi added.
