Google has recently launched new consumer products, including the Pixel 8 smartphone and a new smartwatch, both of which incorporate the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) technologies more fully integrated into Google’s consumer electronics.
The Google Pixel smartphone was designed to demonstrate how Android products push the boundaries of current technology. Pixels are a favorite among consumers who prefer Android devices that have not been modified in any way by other phone manufacturers as well as photography enthusiasts.
Google’s latest mobile processor, the Tensor G3, is a welcome addition to the Pixel lineup.
Once cleared by the FDA, the Pixel 8 Pro’s built-in thermometer app can be used to take accurate temperature readings.
Users will be able to process more data on the device itself and in the cloud thanks to the new Google custom chip’s increased AI and machine learning capabilities.
Executives at the Made by Google event stated that the AI functions can assist with photography, summarizing web pages, and eliminating spam calls.
Additionally, Google revealed intentions to give its virtual assistant access to generative AI, which would enable it to assist users with tasks like trip planning or email catch-up before posing follow-up queries.
Priced at $349, the Google Watch 2 is an improvement over the original smartwatch that was released in October 2022. It receives a digital crown and sophisticated health monitoring capabilities driven by AI.
The Pixel 8 and Pixel Pro 8 start at $699 and $999, respectively, which is a $100 increase over the models from the previous generation of Pixels. They will be made available starting on October 12.
