The GSMA, in partnership with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), has unveiled the GSMA Innovation Fund for Impactful AI, aiming to support small and growing enterprises in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) across Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific. This initiative seeks to harness artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies to address critical socio-economic and climate challenges in these regions.
The fund offers grants ranging from £100,000 to £250,000 for projects lasting 15 to 18 months. In addition to financial support, selected enterprises will receive tailored venture-building assistance, opportunities for partnership facilitation with mobile network operators and public sector organizations, and increased visibility through GSMA’s global events and publications.
Enterprises leveraging AI and emerging technologies to create positive impacts in LMICs are encouraged to apply.
