Elon Musk announced that his aerospace company, SpaceX, has now delivered 100,000 Starlink terminals and is already serving 14 nations, with more licensing applications pending.

Starlink is a SpaceX attempt to build a network of tens of thousands of satellites, known as a constellation in the space business, to bring high-speed internet to clients anywhere on the planet.

As part of Starlink, SpaceX has already launched 1,740 satellites, and its Gen2 Starlink system is expected to add roughly 30,000 broadband satellites.

At the end of 2020, SpaceX launched its Starlink beta internet service with a promotion that offered some consumers to sample it for $99 per month, excluding shipping, taxes, installation, and equipment such as roof mounts to keep the terminals in place.

A satellite antenna dish, a stand, a power source, and a WiFi router are all included in a Starlink Kit.

SpaceX has already invested a lot of money in this project. Shotwell estimated that the Starlink network would cost SpaceX $10 billion or more in 2018.

Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX’s President, and COO indicated in February 2020 that the company’s Starlink satellite business would likely be spun off and sold in the coming years.

SpaceX has lately stated that it intends to expand the service to work for in-flight internet, as well as aboard moving ships and trucks.
