An Amazon.com, Inc. subsidiary, Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) has pledged $230 million to help global companies speed up the development of artificial intelligence (AI) applications that generate new ideas.

This will help startups, particularly those in the early stages, by providing them with Amazon Web Services (AWS) credits, mentorship, and educational opportunities to enhance their utilisation of AI and ML technology.

A portion of the new pledge will go towards supporting the AWS Generative AI Accelerator’s second class of entrepreneurs, which are utilising generative AI to tackle difficult problems. The programme offers participating firms access to mentorship, technical support, and financial incentives of up to $1 million per startup.

Financial services, healthcare and life sciences, media and entertainment, business, and climate change are just a few of the many difficult problems that leading early-stage firms are utilising generative AI to address. Sessions on optimising the stack, improving ML performance, and going to market will be available to participants. Participants will be paired with business and technical mentors for 10 weeks, depending on their industry vertical. To assist startups in developing, training, testing, and releasing their generative AI solutions, AWS is offering up to $1 million in credits to each startup. Along with being invited to join the NVIDIA Inception programme, which is designed to foster innovative companies, participants will also get access to technical workshops, technology, and industry experts through the program’s presenting partner, NVIDIA.

July 19 is the deadline for submitting applications to the AWS Generative AI Accelerator.
