The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), operating under Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), has announced the selection of eight startups for the 47th round of its flagship Start IT incubation programme. Each startup will receive a comprehensive support package valued at EGP 480,000 (approximately $10,000), aimed at fostering innovation and accelerating growth in various sectors.
Selected Startups and Their Innovations:
- Cluster: Developing a health-tech platform to streamline pharmaceutical supply chain operations.
- Mystery Bag: Offering a digital solution to reduce food waste through smart redistribution of unsold inventory.
- Converse2Note: Utilizing AI to convert doctor-patient consultations into structured medical reports.
- Coccarohome: Connecting women artisans directly with consumers to promote authentic handmade home décor.
- Sportyano: Creating a digital platform for sports talent discovery and academy management.
- LRNOVA: Enabling the creation of high-quality educational content using AI-powered tools.
- TANKER: Providing a digital system to monitor and manage fuel consumption in logistics and transportation fleets.
- eDariba: Simplifying digital tax compliance for SMEs and freelancers, aligning with Egypt’s digital transformation in tax services.
Enhanced Support and New Initiatives:
In addition to financial backing, the Start IT programme has introduced several enhancements to support the selected startups:
- Start IT Perks Platform: A new initiative offering startups discounted access to premium digital tools and services through partnerships with local enablers such as Talents Arena, Sprints, The WhiteGuard, Qayedeny, Camion, Techie Matter, DevisionX, and Zurqa.
- Increased AWS Cloud Credits: Doubling the previous support, each startup will now receive $10,000 in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud credits to facilitate infrastructure development.
- Talent and AI Enablement: Dedicated hiring support and specialized AI training programs to empower startups working on advanced digital and AI solutions.
The 47th cohort reflects Egypt’s commitment to nurturing a vibrant and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem, positioning startups as key drivers of innovation and economic growth.
