According to the new MyBroadband Insights Mobile Network Quality Report, MTN is the best mobile network in South Africa, beating out Vodacom, Rain, Telkom, and Cell C.
According to the findings, South Africa’s average mobile download speed was 33.23Mbps and its average upload speed was 12.71Mbps.
MTN had the fastest average download speed of 64.29Mbps, followed by Vodacom (32.76%), Telkom (27.33%), Cell C (20.82Mbps), and Rain (10.58Mbps).
The findings are centered on 349,575 speed tests taken by thousands of people across the country.
MTN’s outstanding results are the result of massive infrastructure investments made over the last five years to expand coverage, enhance network quality, and boost speeds.
With a Network Quality Score of 9.73, MTN came out on top, followed by Vodacom on 5.65, Telkom on 5.17, Cell C on 4.36, and Rain on 3.40.
A “Network Quality Score” was calculated for each network using download speed, upload speed, and latency to decide the best mobile network in South Africa.
The Network Quality Score, which is based on a scale of one to ten, indicates how well a network worked in comparison to other networks.
