AfriTech XYZ has nominated 19 African startups to participate in its virtual accelerator programme. The startups were selected out of over 100 startups that applied for the accelerator programme.
AfriTech XYZ is a brainchild of the UK social enterprise Do it Now Now. The programme offers equity-free training to pre-seed and seed-stage startups.
It is currently in partnership with Google, F6S, Lagos Innovates, BongoHive, iSpace Foundation, PYPR, Strand Sahara and the Academy of London.

The 19 selected startups comprise 8 Nigerian-based Startup, 4 Ghanaian, 3 Kenyan, 2 Ugandan and 1 startup each from South Africa and Zambia.
The startups include:
- Pay Hippo – A Nigerian-based loan platform that provides loans to small businesses in 24 hours.
- Salubata– The startup offers shoemaking and sizing solutions to combat inaccurate shoe sizing globally.
- Qataloog – It automates higher education content distribution across universities and colleges in 54 African countries.
- Novel – A cloud-based accounting software that offers end-to-end accounting solution for MSMEs.
- Peersview – This built a social network for students; a combination of LinkedIn and Quora for the next generation of African leaders.
- Esusu -This is a Nigerian based startup that digitizes thrift savings, collections, and microcredits.
- Every Farmer – The startup builds a unified cloud and mobile platform that simplifies complex farming processes.
- MaiFARMLAND – This creates financially stable smallholder farmers by aggregating demand, supply, and distribution of their locally grown crops in Nigeria.
- Trusteefarm – It provides a web-based platform to track food safety and allows farmers, processors and consumers to inter-trade seamlessly.
- Xpendly – The startup provides mobile and USSD platforms for young millennials across Africa to manage their finances.
- Borla Daakye – It app solves issues associated with collecting, separating and recycling waste products from homes, schools, and offices into useful materials.
- Swiftly – This leverages technology and data to optimize freight forwarding for our clients, with special leverage for Africa trade lanes.
- Hud Hud – It offers mass ride-sharing for students, ride-sharing to work, mass-commuting for events and a platform for van and bus hire.
- Andele – This offers credit facility of up to Ksh 50,000 monthly to working-class customers from their pending paychecks.
- Ecoplastile – It addresses the challenges of post-consumer waste pollution, waste management, deforestation and climate change through chemical-free plastic extrusion technology.
- IRRISOL – The startup offers quality and affordable agricultural, water and irrigation solutions to farmers.
- Just Float – It builds a fully digital marketplace that facilitates peer-to-peer rentals of specialized items.
- Insure Pay – This provides financial loans to Small and Medium Scale Enterprises.
The startups were selected for their innovative solution that can resolve pressing needs in Africa.
