Moving on, Google, in a bid to inspire new developers and get them prepared for future jobs has opened applications for its Google Africa Certifications Scholarship for developers across Africa. The certification will not only center on providing 100,000 African developers with trainings that will aid them in building world-class apps, but will also be built around job-task analysis and test learners for skills that employers look out for in developers. This is big for the Africa Developers Ecosystem!
National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) has blamed the registration process as the cause of delay for the use of solar energy in farms. Farmers in South Africa who invested over R8 million in solar energy in order to prevent power outage in their farms have been dissatisfied with the delay in approval. The NERSA authority however said all registration must go through law before approval.
Next on the Big 5, IMF and World Bank has created Learning Coin, a quasi-cryptocurrency to enable its staff learn Blockchain technology. The Learning Coin will be restricted to the employees and does not have any monetary value. Through this development, IMF and the World Bank intend to understand the currency and improve regulation, supervision, and surveillance.
Finally, Nigeria’s agro-commodity aggregator platform ‘Farmgate Africa’ — which is a subsidiary of FarmCrowdy announced its partnership with Livestock247 today, the 16th of April 2019. This partnership will expand their reach in the agricultural space by aiding; proper organization and profitable deployment of funds to key areas of production and trading.
