AfricArena selected 10 startups to attend and showcase at VivaTech which took place in Paris, from the 16th to 18th of May, 2019. Aerobotics, one of the selected startups, uses drones, machine learning algorithms and satellites for identifying crop diseases for farmers.
Aerobotics emerged winner of the pitch competition and received President Emmanuel Macron’s Tech award. They also received an invitation for AfricArena Conference to be held on the 11th and 12th of November at the Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town.

The ten startups selected for the VivaTech 2019 are:
Aerobotics: Aerobotics recently launched “Aeroview Infield”, a cloud-based web platform which provides farmers with insight, scouting mapping and other tools to identify crop diseases in Africa.
DataProphet: An AI-enabled innovation for the manufacturing industry. They provide solutions to manufacturing challenges without altering manufacturing processes.
Guardian Gabriel: A safety tech startup that provides emergency buttons without connection to a smartphone.
HomeFarm: They produce smart IoT crop appliances which allows people to tend to vegetable gardens from the comfort of their homes.
FinChatBot: FinChatBot produces AI-powered chatbots for financial service providers.
MedBit: A social enterprise that provides easy payment system for healthcare services on mobile phones or computers.
OniriQ: They design solar systems for the Africans living in off-grid communities across the continent.
PayDunya: A fintech that offers online payment services for customers to send and receive money.
TravelBudds: An online travel platform for travelers to connect and share their experiences with one another.
SeaMonster: A gaming company which connects travelers to a virtual reality adventure while they fly with Joon.
